Tooth abscess or dental abscess can be a very painful experience. This type of abscess is an infection that is in the mouth area. This infection can not only affect the tooth, but can affect the throat, face and jaw. This does start off as a tooth infection and can spread in the mouth if not treated. Some of the causes of an abscess like these can stem from not regularly brushing your teeth that can lead into cavities. There are some self tests that can be performed such as the tapping of the tooth or biting down tight to see if you have an increase in pain. This abscess infection can spread from the mouth area to other areas of the body such as the brain. Pneumonia and infection of the blood is and advanced stage. Blood infection from this is also called a sepsis. The treatments to take care of the abscess problems can start with antibiotics which help kill the bacteria. Root canal treatment is another option that will help. Removing the tooth is another treatment. This is usually done if there is an infection in the root. Healing in the wound where the tooth was taken out will take place after a good cleansing. There are some treatment that you can do such as using teabags. Trying to gargle salt water in your mouth for about ten minutes will help. The downside to home remedies to the abscess problem is that it will not eliminate the infection. The home remedy can remove the abscess.
Tooth abscess pictures can be found online. The image is usually red and some blood from pus. Most abscesses occur on the front gum area or where the possible bad tooth is. Some in dentist office will take a picture using an x-ray photo of the problem. This is an enhanced picture. Tooth abscess pictures can be hard to look at if you have a week stomach. Pus in the infection is usually green and red because of blood. This abscess normally is not easy to see. We see it mostly as a lump or bump. A trained eye such as a dentist can see an abscess.
